Ozil labels club as ‘not good enough’ after 4-0 drubbing by Liverpool
MESUT OZIL has lambasted Arsenal’s performance against Liverpool as he issued a heartfelt apology to fans on Instagram.
The Gunners were blown away by the Reds as they were humiliated in the 4-0 annihilation, while Alexis Sanchez simply posted an uncaptioned photo.
Goals from Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge condemned Arsene Wenger‘s men to back-to-back defeats.
After the opening three Premier League games, they occupy 16th spot, conceding eight goals – the second highest in the top-flight behind West Ham.
Today’s result typified the performance Gunners supporters have been accustomed to against the top sides – falling apart and the butt of the jokes from fellow supporters.
Ozil– who often shows his frustration on the pitch, took to social media to vent his anger where he vowed his side will bounce back after the international break.
He said: ” Blame us, shout at us, criticize us, but I’m also very disappointed about today’s game 😠.
“We wanted to achieve a positive result before the international break but we were simply not good enough during the 90 minutes and Liverpool deserved the win without a doubt.
"Usually I'm too angry to post on social media after such frustrating days like today, but I don't want to let this match go uncommented before traveling (sic) to the DFB Team.
"Nevertheless... Gunners, I'm sorry - especially for the fans who travelled all the way up to Liverpool to see us fighting.
"But we will try everything to improve in the next game and bounce back from the disappointment we are all feeling at the moment."
The passionate message from the German World Cup winner was a stark contrast to what Sanchez uploaded to his own Instagram account.
